WELCOME TO THE
McCLURE MIDDLE SCHOOL
Fostering Student Success by Partnering with Educators and Our Community
The Foundation exists to foster opportunities that strengthen student success through partnership with our educators and our community. It is our belief that every student be given the opportunity to thrive in an environment that provides academic enrichment and the necessary tools to help them become the best of the next generation.
Through partnership we can begin to bridge the gap between the needs of the school, the opportunities provided to the students and the resources available to the educators in order to have a strong and positive impact on the community.
Our vision is that every student has an opportunity to meet their highest potential and be prepared for the global marketplace.
OUR VALUES & BELIEFS:
All students regardless of ability, race, ethnicity, gender or socio-economic status deserve the best education the community can deliver.
In the transformational power of education for students at all levels of readiness, ability and achievement.
In educating the whole child including a focus on physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
Education should be challenging, enriching, inspiring and fun.
In community involvement, volunteerism and investment in public education.

Kelly Metcalfe is the principal of McClure Middle School. Hear her heart regarding the need of the school and the purpose of the Foundation:
Thank you for your interest in the McClure Foundation. The Foundation was established to help support the wonderful work of the faculty and staff at McClure Middle School. We are a school of 1100+ students who live in the Kennesaw and Acworth areas. Students from McClure feed into three high schools: Allatoona, Harrison and Kennesaw Mountain. To make these students successful at the middle school level and to prepare them for high school, many resources are required beyond those currently available on a daily basis.
When I became principal of McClure in the 2012-2013 school year, it was clear to me that we needed additional funding to sustain our programs and to “dream big” for our students’ futures. As you may or may not know, middle schools have a very limited scope of financial resources. We do not have After School Programs, the draw of athletics, or vending machines as a means of income. In this current school year the instructional budget allows for $42.86 to be spent on each student for the entire school year. This is barely enough to meet their needs let alone enough for us to “dream big”.
In the 2013-2014 school year, we established The McClure Middle School Foundation in an effort to bridge the gap between our needs and the available resources. The MMSF reaches out on behalf of our administrators, faculty and staff to gain support and funding for our initiatives. Your gift may be directed toward a specific initiative such as funding a computer lab, a track on our athletic field, providing funding for teacher professional learning or to the general fund.
I truly appreciate your consideration in supporting McClure Middle School in our quest to provide the highest quality education to each and every student.
Kelly Metcalfe, Principal
